MALL MANAGEMENT ENTREPRENEURS LOST NEARLY IDR10 TRILLION

THE Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) believes the implementation of the New Normal protocol or the new order can suppress the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

According to the Chairperson of APPBI, Stefanus Ridwan stated that currently the community is not only facing the spread of the virus but also the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

Thus, re-moving business in the consumption sector needs to be done in conjunction with the strictness of the health protocol in the public sphere.

“The review conducted by the President at Summarecon Mall Bekasi to see the preparation of the New Normal protocol is a good start. This helps how prevention of transmission occurs,” explained Stefanus.

Furthermore, Stefanus said in the last two months the loss or loss of mall revenue has reached more than IDR9.8 trillion. Of this amount, the average mall manager loses around IDR4.9 trillion per month due to the closure of the mall.

Stefanus said, the loss could be higher because it still incurred costs for employees and maintenance of the mall.

“Discipline to comply with health protocols actually does not have to be done per institution, but everyone, every individual must remind each other. Because there are citizens who are disciplined, some are not. This is where the concern to carry out these obligations can be the key to reducing the spread of the virus,” he concluded.
