MICROSOFT expands the number of participants visible on the Teams video call screen to 49 people, a feature similar to Zoom.
“Coming up as a preview for this month with availability in the fall, we are expanding the 7×7 Teams box view, which will hold up to 49 participants at once on one screen,” Microsoft wrote on its official website recently.
The maximum number of participants in a Teams meeting is 250 people, while packages for paid packages allow up to 500 participants at a time.
Quoted from The Verge, this feature is one of several features that Microsoft added to Teams in support of Microsoft for Education, which is claimed to have been used by more than 150 million students, teaching staff, leaders of educational institutions and teachers, who actively use it as part from distance learning.
In addition to a larger display, Teams for Education also has less space for students to collaborate, attendance reports for teachers, and a “hands up” option for students.
Microsoft said it added new features based on what it heard from Teams clients in terms of education, including teachers and leaders of educational institutions, many of whom hoped to use more technology than they had before the pandemic.
The majority of educators surveyed by Microsoft hope that the 2020-2021 school year will be a blend of distance learning and traditional learning in the classroom.
Teams pushed new features very quickly trying to catch up to Zoom, which experienced huge growth during the first quarter of 2020.
In addition to the 49-person display update that is similar to Zoom, Teams has recently presented a feature that allows users to adjust the background image as desired, as well as adding noise suppression features. [antaranews/photo special]
