THE Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies (ASITA) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has intensified the promotion of open space tourist destinations to attract tourist visits when the normal order is only implemented in DIY.
According to Chairman of ASITA DIY Udhi Sudiyanto said the promotion we will pack now is more open destinations. Nature tourism is one of them. During the pandemic, open space tourism destinations tend to be safer for tourists because health protocols are more freely applied so the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is smaller.
Even so, he freed the travel agency ASITA DIY members determine which tourist destinations will be targeted. They are free to determine. Of course we discuss with all members, about which destinations are ready in a health procedure.
ASITA DIY, said Udhi, has ensured that all tour operators in Yogyakarta implement health protocols in their daily operations starting from before picking up guests, with guests, and after finishing with guests.
“On average, they (ASITA DIY members) are already aware of how to implement car cleanliness and maintain a safe distance. However, the operations of the travel business will continue to depend on the readiness of tourist destinations in DIY in supporting the implementation of comprehensive health protocols,” Udhi noted .
Udhi added to prevent transmission of COVID-19, he also asked the destination manager to be able to limit the number of visitors according to their capacity. So not only provide a place to wash hands and wear a mask but must really guarantee ‘physical distancing’ (physical restrictions) applied, including checking the temperature of how.
Udhi Sudiyanto believes tourist destinations that are considered good in implementing health protocols will be more attractive to tourists. For destination management friends who are ready according to standard operating procedures (SOP) we will jointly promote.
Previously, the Head of the DIY Tourism Office Singgih Raharjo said to revive the tourism sector during the pandemic, prevention of COVID-19 transmission remained a major concern. The trial opening of the tourism sector will be carried out in stages in July 2020 by applying non-cash reservations and transactions to minimize transmission of COVID-19.
“Starting from 10 tourist destinations in DIY, namely Breksi Cliff (Sleman), Parangtritis Beach, Becici Peak, Pengger Pine, Thousand Batu, Pinus Sari (Bantul), Kukup Beach, Nglanggeran, Kalisuci, Baron Beach (Gunung Kidul). “The official opening of tourist destinations in DIY is still awaiting the issuance of a governor’s regulation regarding health protocol guidelines in the new normal period,” he said.
We will wait for the regulation regulation, he continued, some of the regulations and SOPs we have finalized are just waiting for it all. [antaranews/photo special]
