FIVE-star hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, offers a different experience that is expected to attract visitors with luxurious tastes through a layer of gold that adorns many parts, from the bathtub to the toilet.
It is Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel that is trying harder to bring visitors back to Vietnam where the tourism sector has begun to stretch after three months of regional restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As reported by Reuters, the hotel owned by Hoa Binh Group looks in contrast to the Soviet era buildings in the vicinity which have been eaten up by age. At present, there are no hotels like this in the world.
According to Nguyen Huu Doing, leader of the Hoa Binh Group said the facilities available at the hotel include swimming pools with 24 carat gold tiles on the roof, as well as gold-plated bathrooms in guest rooms with rates ranging from US$250 per night.
“My opinion about luxury has changed. Other luxury hotels use marble as a tile, but here everything is gold plated to the sink,” said Luong Van Thuan, a guest who is also the owner of the hotel.
Vietnam is relatively successful in dealing with the corona virus with only about 350 cases and no fatalities. Duong said, if there was no pandemic, this hotel would be full of foreign guests. [antaranews/photo special]
