DURING the large-scale social restrictions of the transition period, the duration of visiting the museum is limited to only one hour per person.
According to the Chairperson of the Jakarta Museum of the Indonesian Association (AMI), Yiyok T Herlambang said that since the museum reopened, we have implemented new, stricter regulations on visitors. Besides having to wear a mask, visitors also have a duration of time while inside the museum.
“There is a duration of the visit, for example, the Museum of Bank Indonesia, the duration of the visit is 1 hour. Where do you calculate it? From the time printed on the ticket, it looks like a parking lot,” Yiyok said.
He added, there will always be guides and loudspeakers to remind visitors who are inside. Why is this done? So there is no build up when viewing an interesting collection.
“At present all museums in DKI Jakarta only accept 50% of visitors of normal capacity. At least in one day the museum only receives 250 visitors. Ticket purchases are also partly done online to minimize physical contact between visitors and museum officials,” he noted.
He explained to more advanced museums, they could purchase tickets online. So if you buy online there is a record, if you buy directly using a KTP or student card so it looks where they comes from. The security and safety protocols applied in the DKI Jakarta museums refer to SOPs that are applied by museums around the world and also the Indonesian government.
“Museum SOP is more detailed because the museum is not only visited by various people but there are also collections that interact with the community,” Yiyok concluded. [antaranews]
