DEMAND for tour packages in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) began to re-enter from foreign tourists to tour the island-based province.
According to the Chairman of the East Nusa Tenggara Indonesian Travel Association (Asita), Abed Frans, said the average booking of tour packages from foreign countries that entered this for the period towards the end of 2020.
He said it was related to the current condition of the tourism market in NTT during the new normal period in the midst of a new type of corona virus pandemic or COVID-19. The condition of the COVID-19 pandemic did indeed have a huge impact weakening the tourism market in NTT and nationally, but now the conditions in NTT are gradually improving by booking tour packages that re-enter along with new normal applications.
“Asita has also received reservations for nearly 10 tour packages from abroad. “Others like Panorama have also entered a lot and I am sure the friends of other actors have also begun to accept bookings,” he noted.
Abed Frans added, in the estimated total booking of incoming tour packages for all tour operators in NTT could be dozens of packages. Booking incoming tour packages are still dominated for tourist destinations to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency which is famous for Komodo National Park tourist destinations.
According to him, however, there are encouraging conditions in the tourism market in NTT because the demand for tour packages to the island of Timor is also quite large. Apart from foreign countries, the demand for tour packages from regional circles to travel to NTT has even begun.
Abed Frans added, his tour operator continues to carry out promotion of NTT tourism digitally in the form of e-mails to relations and customers as well as flyers or brochures distributed through various social media networks. [photo special]
