AIRASIA Indonesia recorded an increase in domestic flight ticket bookings of around 60-90 percent every week since the beginning of July 2020. Meanwhile, Jakarta-Denpasar became the most favorite route with sales of around 2,400 seats in the last week.
According to Director of AirAsia Indonesia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said this achievement was driven by increased public interest in traveling during the period of adaptation of new habits, ease of travel requirements to Bali, and reopening tourist objects in Bali for domestic tourists since July 31, 2020.
“The situation of this trend of increasing interest in traveling must be jointly guarded for the benefit of the economy in areas that rely on tourist visits. To ensure the creation of a safe and comfortable tourism ecosystem, guests are strongly encouraged to ensure health before traveling, one of which is by doing rapid test,” Veranita said.
She explained that a number of steps would also be taken to maintain the trend of increasing demand for Bali, one of which was expanding Bali’s connectivity to domestic cities which we had begun with Jakarta and Surabaya. Another step is to continue to provide competitive rates with 15 kg of free baggage accompanied by various conveniences such as flexibility to change schedules, rapid test services in various locations and drive-thru rapid test facilities.
“Counseling and applying a consistent and comprehensive health protocol by all elements of tourism stakeholders is an important factor that determines the comfort of tourists to be able to return to Bali,” she noted
On the other hand, she continued, all popular tourist attractions in Bali have implemented health protocols in accordance with government recommendations. Tourists can enjoy the beauty of the beaches of the Island of the Gods, ranging from watching the sun rise on Sanur Beach, surfing on Kuta Beach and Canggu Beach, to enjoying the sunset at Seminyak Beach or Uluwatu Beach comfortably.
“Bali is one of the hubs or operational centers for AirAsia Indonesia. At present, AirAsia Indonesia has served two domestic routes connecting Bali with Jakarta starting at IDR736,800 and Surabaya starting at IDR321,386,” Veranita affirmed.
