PT Angkasa Pura II or AP II held a Safe Travel Campaign from July to September 2020 to maintain the momentum of national aviation industry recovery.
According to PT Angkasa Pura II’s SVP Safety and Risk Achmad Rifai said the Safe Travel Campaign was conducted at 19 of the company’s airports. In addition to ensuring the strict implementation of health protocols, it also refers to the protocol established by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTCC) as well as the Airport Council International (ACI).
“Through the Safe Travel Campaign, AP II airports run strict health protocols at each point of departure and arrival, which are supported by digitization and information technology,” Rifai said in a press release recently.
He said the Safe Travel Campaign aims to create a safe travel experience, ensure operational and staff readiness to face the new normal, and rebuild the trust and confidence of travelers to travel by plane. To achieve these objectives, the health protocol at AP II airport focuses on 5 initiatives.
The five initiatives, he continued, are Physical Distancing, Health Screening, Touchless Processing, Facility Cleanliness & Sanitizing, and People Protection. The implementation of initiatives is equipped with various facilities that utilize digital technology to increase public trust.
According to him, through the health protocol, followed by close collaboration of stakeholders, as well as the availability of various digital technology facilities, to the spread of facilities that support health aspects at the airport, AP II wants to ensure that travel by plane is easy, practical, comfortable while staying safe, amidst the status of a pandemic so that economic stability continues well.
AP II currently manages 19 airports namely Soekarno-Hatta (Tangerang), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Kualanamu (Deli Serdang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Silangit (North Tapanuli).
Then, Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang), Supadio (Pontianak), Banyuwangi, Radin Inten II (Lampung), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), HAS Hanandjoeddin (Belitung), Tjilik Riwut (Bandung) (Palangkaraya) and Kertajati (Majalengka), Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh) and Minangkabau (Padang).
