TOURISM MINISTRY PREPARES TOURISM OBJECTS IN A NEW ERA OF LIFE AMID COVID-19

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is preparing tourist objects in the country to be healthy and clean in a new era of life amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Coordinator for the Promotion of Special Cultural Interest Tourism, Kemenparekraf Santy Lusiani in Pemuteran Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali said that the economy can run in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in opening the tourism sector. But we need to prepare more.

She said the central government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to strive to prepare programs to welcome the new era of life, one of which is the “Earth Revitalization” program.

“Through the ‘Earth Revitalization’ program, we invite people to prepare early for welcoming tourist visits with a healthy and clean life. Bali as a major tourist destination, this program starts from the Island of the Gods,” she said.

According to Santy Lusiani, with the COVID-19 pandemic, tourists now have a different mindset to travel than before the pandemic. Currently, tourists will consider health issues to be a top priority, then think about the tourist objects they will visit.

“With the COVID-19 pandemic, tourists are not merely looking at tourist objects. But more importantly, health issues are prioritized. How is the object of cleanliness and how to implement health protocols in these attractions,” Santy noted.

Therefore, said Santy Lusiani, inviting the community and tourism stakeholders to jointly maintain health and cleanliness in the tourist attraction environment. The first thing to pay attention to readiness to bring in tourism is that the tourist area must strictly implement health protocols.

“Among other things, providing a place to wash hands and accessories, procedures to maintain distance and avoid crowds. Likewise, tour servants must be sterile using masks (face shields) and hand sanitizers,” she added.

She explained that in the “Earth Revitalization” program in Bali, there were a number of tourist areas being targeted, namely the Tanjung Benoa area, Badung Regency, Pemuteran and Menjangan Village (Buleleng), Amed and Tulamben in Karangasem.

“In this program, socialization is carried out related to the program and continued with beach cleaning in the Pemuteran Village area. In this activity the people who are members of the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) will be divided into 10 groups each to clean the beach and the garbage will be collected, then weighing the waste,” she affirmed.

Santy Lusiani said that in this program at least 10 items of waste will be collected, including plastic waste and B3 waste (hazardous and toxic waste).

For two days until Saturday (22/8), the Ministry of Tourism symbolically handed over the health protocol equipment and trash cans. In addition, there are also socialization activities related to the revitalization of the earth, procedures for implementing health protocols and cleaning up waste in the area. [traveltext.id]
