INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages hotel and restaurant industry players in super priority destinations of Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, to certify health protocols based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE).
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio, in the Press Conference for the Simulation of Health, Safety and Security Protocol Super Priority Destinations, at the Inaya Bay Komodo Hotel, Labuan Bajo, recently said that currently the CHSE certification is very important for the tourism industry, especially for hotel and restaurant businesses to restore tourists’ confidence.
“This effort is made in order to create a sense of security and comfort for tourists when visiting tourist destinations that have certified health protocols. Because, this certification has been aligned with various world tourism organizations, such as UNWTO and CTTI, as well as the Ministry of Health,” Wishnutama said.
He added that previously, Tourism Minsitry had implemented a free CHSE certification program for the tourism industry in 34 provinces in Indonesia. To date, in Labuan Bajo there are three hotels that have CHSE certification, namely Inaya Bay Hotel, Ayana Komodo Resort, and The Jayakarta Suite Komodo.
“Meanwhile, Pelataran Komodo Resort is in process and later several hotels and restaurants will also carry out a similar certification,” Wisnutama noted.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Labuan Bajo – Flores Tourism Authority Agency, Shana Fatina, said that in the future tourists don’t need to worry about coming to Labuan Bajo, because currently hotel and restaurant businesses are in the CHSE certification process.
“With the CHSE certification, we are ready and will strive to ensure the health, safety and security of every tourist visiting Labuan Bajo,” Shana affirmed.
In addition to prioritizing CHSE certification, Shana added that in the future tourism will move towards digital technology. By utilizing the Indonesia Care application, tourists can find out which tourist destinations are CHSE certified or which locations are green zones.
“Apart from that, tourists can also find out which hotels, ships and restaurants have received the CHSE certification. So that when an emergency situation occurs, tourists can click on the emergency call and will be directly connected to the integrated post, followed directly to the agency that will follow up, so that the response will be responded more quickly. This is done so that tourists feel safe wherever they are during their tour in Labuan Bajo,” Shana concluded. [traveltext.id]
