CITIZENS in Dubai are still allowed to hold private New Year parties to welcome 2021, but there are several conditions that must be met if you don’t want to be fined.
The Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai said family gatherings and events held at home or other places were permitted as long as the number of people gathered was no more than 30, and all had to be far from each other. There should be four square meters of space per one person.
Maintaining a distance of at least two meters and always wearing a mask are also the obligations of people who party. There are also people who are advised not to join together to celebrate the end of 2020, namely the elderly and people with chronic conditions, as well as those who experience symptoms such as cough or fever.
If violated, the party organizer and guests will be fined. Organizers who violate the rules will be fined 50,000 dirhams (IDR192 million), while guests who violate will be fined 15,000 dirhams (IDR57 million). [antaranews/photo special]
