THE tourist destination area (DTW) in Bali was invaded by domestic tourists during the early holidays in 2021. Like the Tanah Lot Tabanan area visited by 5,479 people on January 1, 2021. This number has increased dramatically compared to normal days, with an average of 2,000 visits per day.
According to the Manager of Tanah Lot, I Ketut Toya Adnyana, said that even before the Covid-19 pandemic the number of tourist visits reached 15,000 per day just before Christmas and New Year. But according to him, more than 5,000 people who came to Tanah Lot in early 2021 have given new hope for the rise of tourism in Bali.
“We always hope that tourism on this island can immediately revive by optimizing domestic tourist visits,” he said.
Even though the number of visits has increased, Tanah Lot is still tightening the Covid-19 health program, and routinely giving advice regarding the implementation of health protocols through loudspeakers.
In addition to Tanah Lot, DTW Ulun Danu Beratan, which is in the same district, also experienced a surge in tourist arrivals during the early year holidays.
Meanwhile, the Manager of DTW Ulun Danu Beratan Wayan Mustika said that tourist visits reached 2,000 people on January 1, 2021. This number also increased dramatically compared to normal days which reached 150-300 people per day. Meanwhile, during the weekend, the number of visits reached 450 people.
“The implementation of the Prokes at Ulun Danu during the holidays earlier this year was carried out strictly. The appeal to maintain distance has also been implemented because our DTW capacity reaches 7,000 people,” he said. [antaranews/photo special]
