THE number of foreign tourists who entered Indonesia in November 2020 still fell sharply from the number of visits in the previous period.
According to Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS Setianto, said the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the number of foreign tourists visiting in November was 175,300 visits, or a decrease of 86.31% year on year (yoy) from November 2019 which was recorded at 1.2. million visits.
“We’ll see where in 2018 and 2019 there is still no COVID-19 outbreak. So, the number of foreign tourists visiting decreased from the previous year. However, when compared to October 2020 which amounted to 153,900 visits, the number of foreign tourist visits in November 2020 was observed to increase by 13.90% month of month (mom),” he said.
He explained, from the number of foreign tourists visiting, most of them took the land route to Indonesia. A total of 88,600 visits or 50% of foreign tourist visits were observed to enter through land doors.
“Meanwhile, the number of foreign tourists who entered through the air gate was 43,400 visits or 25% of the total foreign tourists visiting. Then, as many as 43,300 foreign tourists visiting or 25% of the total visits were monitored to enter by sea,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo traveltext]
