SWEDEN plans to launch a digital “passport for vaccine” for the coronavirus in the summer, assuming by then there are international standards for the publication of the document, the government said on Thursday.
Governments and developers around the world are examining how such certificates can help reopen economies by identifying those who are protected from COVID-19.
“As Sweden and the countries around us are starting to reopen communities, vaccination certificates are likely required for travel and may be required in other activities,” Sweden’s Minister of Energy and Digital Development Anders Ygeman told a news conference.
Meanwhile, the Danish Government on Wednesday (3/2) announced that it would launch an initial version of the passport for the corona virus vaccination at the end of February. [antaranews]
