THE Honda Aircraft Company announced that by 2020, the HondaJet would be the most delivered aircraft in its class for the fourth consecutive year, based on data provided by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).
According Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino said that during 2020, Honda Aircraft Company delivered 31 aircraft to customers globally. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a decline in the delivery of business jets compared to previous years, we are also seeing it accelerate the shift to safer and more sustainable modes of transportation.
“HondaJet shipments quickly recovered to pre-COVID levels at the end of the year, indicating that customers around the world continue to choose HondaJets. This is also evident with many first-time business jet owners,” Michimasa Fujino said.
Honda Aircraft Company also announced that HondaJet Japan has started HondaJet charter service under Air Transportation Service, which is defined in the Japanese Aviation Act which is similar to the operation of FAR Part 135, making these aircraft even more accessible to travelers in Japan.
In 2020, Honda Aircraft Company is expanding its global footprint with type certification in Pakistan and Russia. Honda Aircraft Company’s sales and service footprint now covers North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, India, Japan and Russia.
The HondaJet fleet continues to grow – currently, more than 170 HondaJets are operated worldwide with more than 68,000 flight hours.
