LUHUT: 5-YEAR VISA PLAN, MAKE IT EASY FOR INVESTORS TO WORK FROM BALI

INDONESIA Government is drafting regulations regarding five-year visas for foreign nationals to increase the confidence of investors working domestically, such as Bali.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the policy allows foreign nationals to work in Bali. Until now, the five-year visa regulation which will be outlined in the ministerial regulation is being discussed and the plan is to be implemented in the near future.

“So, they can work from Bali. This is a detail that we have prepared and we will implement it. I think soon, I think in the next month or after next month. Currently every foreign citizen who comes to Indonesia must apply for a visa. In the future, countries that can be trusted can get a five-year visa, making it easier for these foreign nationals to work activities while in Indonesia,” he said.

Luhut explained, it will come out soon and make it easier for people to work form Bali, so we make a benchmark with surrounding countries and other developed countries as long as we can accommodate them. long term visas for foreign tourists (tourists) will be implemented soon.

When being the keynote speaker at the Bali Investment Forum 2021 in Bali and broadcast online, recently, Luhut affirmed that the government’s plan to provide a long term visa with a term of five years is believed to attract investment.

Luhut noted Bali is one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investors. In talking virtually with the US hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital, I also directed them to enter Bali.

“Yesterday I zoom meeting with Johns Hopkins Hospital, they were willing to discuss participating in Indonesia and I also channeled it to Bali here because I believe Bali is very attractive to international investors,” he added.

Furthermore, Luhut said the ministerial regulations related to the policy plan were being finalized. I also added that the long term visa will be implemented for foreign tourists from certain countries. I also make sure that the government also conducts benchmarks with surrounding and developed countries regarding this policy. Now the Ministerial Regulation is being finalized.

“Indeed, we want people who come to Indonesia, why every time they come apply for a visa, but of course the countries we think can be trusted to do this. Now (the rules) will come out soon and it will also make it easier for people to work from Bali, they don’t need a lot of permits anymore,” he concluded. [bisnis.com/photo special]
