PT ANGKASA Pura I (AP I) Sam Ratulangi Airport Branch Office in Manado and the Tourism Office of North Sulawesi Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to promotion in the field of tourism and creative economy where the North Sulawesi creative economy program will later will be represented at Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding was carried out by the General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Sam Ratulangi Airport Manado Minggus Gandeguai and the Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office Henry Kaitjily, on Monday (29/03) afternoon. The signing of this memorandum of understanding is a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno during his visit to Sam Ratulangi Airport on March 5, 2021.
On this occasion the GM of Angkasa Pura I Sam Ratulangi Airport delivered a presentation related to the extent to which the airport was prepared to welcome tourism programs at the airport, in the Creative Economy Promotion Group Discussion activity at Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, which presented the Creative Economy Marketing Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Yuana Rochma Astuti, along with creative economy players in North Sulawesi.
“All possibilities in the framework of supporting tourism and the creative economy are very open to be implemented at the airport. For music and dance performances in the waiting room area, especially in the new development terminal for the departure area, we have prepared two stages and there are also in the arrivals area, with this MoU, we have prepared a special free for tourism, he said.
We have prepared a special location for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Minggus continued, as well as at points where TV displays are available at the airport, they can be used as promotional media.
Meanwhile, the Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office, Henry Kaitjily said, through the signing of this MoU, it was one of the strategies in promoting North Sulawesi tourism. Of course this is part of the collaboration and cooperation between the Provincial Government and AP I so that we can showcase the potential for tourism and the creative economy that exists in 15 urban districts throughout North Sulawesi.
Likewise, the Creative Economy Marketing Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Yuana welcomed the collaboration between Angkasa Pura I and the North Sulawesi Provincial Government in advancing tourism and the creative economy in North Sulawesi.
“Angkasa Pura I is very supportive of the Provincial Government. Hopefully the cooperation through this MoU can be imitated by other regions, so that what is the program of the Minister of Tourism can be executed immediately. Like today we discussed the show casing which will be held at the airport, to showcase North Sulawesi’s creative economy products.
