HANNOVER MESSE 2021, OPPORTUNITY FOR RI AS A NEW POWER IN THE WORLD

MINISTRY of Industry declares that the largest international exhibition for the industrial technology sector in Germany, the Hannover Messe 2021, could become an arena for Indonesia to present itself as a new power in the world economy.

According to the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Indonesia’s participation said as the Official Partner Country will open up opportunities to conduct national branding on Indonesia’s position as a new power in the world economy and global manufacturing player.

This is considered by the Minister of Industry to be in line with the “Making Indonesia 4.0” campaign, which is a strategic initiative in the context of revitalizing the national industry through technology adoption to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.

The Hannover Messe which will be held on 12-16 April 2021 will take the theme “Industrial Transformation” in which Indonesia complements it with the theme “Making Indonesia 4.0 with the tagline Connect to Accelerate”. At the Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition, Indonesia will appear in the digital Expo, Conference and Networking platforms.

Indonesia’s participation as a Partner Country is supported by 156 exhibitors consisting of Ministries/Institutions, State-Owned Enterprises, Higher Education, and national private companies.

“Participation in the Hannover Messe 2021 is expected to increase investment, industrial cooperation and business deals. More than that, it is hoped that Indonesia will increasingly become an attraction in the global environment,” Agus Gumiwang stated.

It is known that there are 156 exhibitors, which can be grouped into six topics, namely Automation, Motion & Drives (15 exhibitors); Digital Ecosystems (56 exhibitors); and Energy Solutions (13 exhibitors). Then, Engineered Parts & Solutions (20 exhibitors); New Work (38 exhibitors); and Global Business & Markets (15 exhibitors).

Of these, the largest exhibitor contributions came from large companies (65), start-up/startup companies (63), State-Owned Enterprises (14), industrial estates (8), Ministries Institutions (4), and industrial associations (2). Among the 156 exhibitors, 93 of them were new registrants and 63 exhibitors registered to take part in the Hannover Messe 2020. [antaranews/photo special]
