ALL foreign aviation industry workers under their respective associations have received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccination on April 22, 2021.
According to the Secretary General of the Board of Airline Representative Indonesia (Barindo), Susie Charma said this was done to support the rise of foreign air travel to and from Indonesia.
“With the vaccination program for our members, amounting to 33 foreign airlines, it is hoped that it can gain public confidence in airplane travel and accelerate the recovery of the tourism industry in Indonesia,” she said.
She explained, Barindo also fully supports the Government’s program which will open Bali tourism to foreign tourists this year. Previously all Barindo members, as many as 550 workers from 33 airlines, had received their first vaccine injection in March 2021.
Furthermore, Susie Charma as Secretary General expressed her gratitude to the Government of Indonesia, especially the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises for facilitating vaccination for Barindo members.
She added, Barindo board of airline Representative Indonesia is an association foreign aviation in Indonesia, which has been established since 1976. Currently, Barindo has 33 members the airline chaired by Garuda Indonesia.
“Barindo members consist of full service carriers and low cost carriers flying from/to Indonesia, especially big cities such as Jakarta, Denpasar, Surabaya, Medan and Ujung Pandang,” Susie noted.
Barindo member airlines, she continued that came from various parts of the world including Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. About 80% of airline passengers from/abroad are transported by Barindo member airlines. [traveltext.id]
