MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy, through the Marketing Communication Directorate, collaborated with Grab Indonesia, holding an activity entitled ‘Improving the Quality of Tourism Services for Grab Partners’ recently, at Manohara Hotel, Central Java.
This is a follow-up to the Wonderful Indonesia co-branding marketing partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Grab Indonesia.
This activity aims to improve the quality of service and travel experience provided by Grab Indonesia drivers, as one of the forefront of contact with tourists, as well as to deliver tourism that conforms to the standard health protocols Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE), in particular. in one of the super priority tourist destinations, namely Borobudur, which is the epicenter of tourism in the Joglosemar area (Yogyakarta, Solo and Semarang).
According to the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, in her statement, in Jakarta, Tuesday (27/4), said that Grab drivers are a supporting instrument that is in direct contact with tourists in marketing and promoting tourist destinations in Indonesia. this is the area in Joglosemar.
She hopes that the collaboration between the government and private parties such as Grab Indonesia will be able to accelerate the development of sustainable tourism.
“And along with its development, we also must not forget the standard health protocol that has been implemented. Health protocol must be carried out strictly and disciplined. In addition, with a good level of tourist satisfaction at all tourism touch points, we hope that we can continue to increase added value and shape quality tourism as well as increase the stay time and tourist repeaters,” said Nia Niscaya.
Meanwhile, Director of West Indonesia Grab Indonesia, Richard Aditya, expressed his support for the government in accelerating the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy, especially in Central Java.
“Today’s tourist destinations must meet standards and apply applicable health protocols, so that tourists can feel safe and comfortable when enjoying their tour in the Borobudur area,” Richard noted.
On the same occasion, Head of the Central Java Province Youth, Sports and Tourism Office, Sinoeng Noegroho Rachmadi appreciated the support provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Grab Indonesia for the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy in Central Java.
Sinoeng revealed that the main thing that needs to be done in the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy in Central Java is to attract the attention of tourists to visit Central Java. Because in 2020 the number of domestic tourists decreased by minus 60.5% and foreign tourists by minus 88.6% compared to 2019.
And in January 2021, domestic tourists who came to reach 1,377,659 people. However, in February 2021 it fell to 689,104 people, while foreign tourists were still at zero.
“This collaboration is expected to be able to restore the trust of tourists and create a safe and comfortable tourism experience in Central Java in the midst of the pandemic,” he said.
For the record, this collaboration includes several things, including the Ministry of Tourism to train Grab driver-partners and merchants as well as tourism businesses in tourist villages around the Borobudur area to become tour guides as well as being trained on the implementation of CHSE-based health protocols. From this training, participants are expected to provide the best service for tourists and become Grab Tourism Ambassadors in Borobudur and its surroundings.
Then, promote trips and exploration of super priority tourist destinations through Grab services, such as providing online transportation services with GrabBike and GrabCar Rental in the Joglosemar area, which are equipped with tourism booklets.
