THE Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) stated that the vaccination of hotel and restaurant sector employees in Indonesia was running relatively smoothly and safely.
According to the Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Hariyadi B Sukamdani on the sidelines of a vaccination event for hotel employees repatriation which was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta, Monday (24/5) said that what we have seen thoroughly is the vaccination activities, especially in the hotel and restaurant workers sector. this is going well.
“PHRI monitors the progress of vaccination for workers that has reached 60%, or around 78 thousand people, of a total of 130 thousand registered hotel and restaurant workers. However, the vaccination effort has encountered obstacles, among others, related to the availability of vaccine stocks in the regions,” he said.
He hopes that all hotel and restaurant employees throughout the country will immediately get a vaccine so that the sector will immediately revive.
“The stock depends on the Health Office of each region, this is what we will continue to strive to make it even faster, because if it takes too long the risk is also getting bigger,” he noted.
Hariyadi added that vaccination is important considering hotel and restaurant employees are at the forefront of serving guests. I think vaccination can increase public confidence in the tourism sector, especially hospitality.
“Apart from that, PHRI has never received a report regarding the Post-Immunization Association incident (KIPI). What we see is that employees’ self-confidence increases in providing services, on the consumer side they also feel safe to eat at restaurants or stay at hotels,” Hariyadi concluded.
