OCEANMAN Bali will take place on August 13-14, 2021. This event will certainly involve swimmers from 24 countries and possibly more. Oceanman is the largest international swimming competition in open water. Designed by swimmers for swimmers, this competition started in 2015 and continues to grow.
Oceanman Bali 2021 is part of the International Oceanman Championship series. Indonesia will be the ninth home country this year, rolling on Sanur Beach, Denpasar.
The swimmers will compete in four categories, namely Oceanman (10 km), Half Oceanman (5 km), Sprint (2 km), and OceanKids (1 km). The highest qualifying swimmers in the Oceanman and Half Oceanman categories will qualify for the Oceanman World Championship taking place in Somabay, Egypt in December 2021.
Oceanman license owners, Albert C. Sutanto and Felix C. Sutanto, hope this event will be the opening for the development of tourism in Bali which is affected by COVID-19. Both of them are former of national swimming athletes and owners of the Millenium Aquatic swimming club as the official organizer of Oceanman Bali 2021.
“Oceanman Bali 2021 will be one of the first gateways to welcome foreign guests participating in this event. After nearly 16 months the world has been struggling to deal with COVID-19, hopefully this can stimulate the sports, tourism and regional economy sectors,” said Albert C. Sutanto. .
He explained, Oceanman Bali was originally planned to roll out in August 2020, but it was canceled due to the Corona virus pandemic. Rescheduling was carried out until it was set to take place in August.
