POST-PANDEMIC COVID-19, IT’S TIME TO BRING IT BACK BALI TOURISM SECTOR

IT IS undeniable that the COVID-19 pandemic has made the tourism sector slump, this is also felt by Bali, which is a world-class prima donna tourist destination.

Based on the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency of Bali Province regarding the development of tourism, the room occupancy rate, in February 2021 for star hotels was 8.99% or -2.16 points (mom) while non-star hotels were 7.70%. or +1.00 points (mom).

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said this time Bali tourism needs help to rise. So far, Bali has been the prima donna of tourism in the country as one of the largest foreign exchange earners in the tourism sector.

“But this time, Bali needs our helping hand to maintain the tourism sector economy and the creative economy in Bali. One of the efforts made by the government is to implement a COVID-19 vaccination program in Bali, which targets 2.8 million Balinese people over 18 years old to be vaccinated until July,” said Minister Sandiaga, at the end of May 2021.

For information, Bali received an additional allocation of vaccines from the Indonesian Ministry of Health on May 20, 2021. The total vaccine received was 2,318,580 doses of the target of 6 million doses. Meanwhile, the number of people who have been vaccinated until May 2021 has reached 1,592,110 people. The first injection vaccine was 1,120,640 people, while the second injection was 471,470 people.

“Not only that, the Nusa Dua area is ready to implement health protocols in dealing with tourist visits. A total of 29 hotels in Nusa Dua have pocketed the Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certificate. This step is expected to create a sense of security for tourists, especially when the Work From Bali (WFB) program rolls out in the third quarter of 2021.

However, Balinese people and visitors are required to remain vigilant and not be careless in implementing health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. Because with the discipline of implementing health protocols, traveling #DiIndonesiaAja will feel safer and more fun.
