MALINDO Air, a member of the Lion Air Group, will start the implementation of the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) Travel Pass trial, which is an application for mobile-based air travel that helps passengers manage trips easily and safely.
According to Capt. Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri, CEO of Malindo Air in his official written statemen stated that the first passenger selected in the IATA Travel Pass on one of the Maindo Air flights will be carried out based on the digital method before the flight, namely verifying and conveying the actual status of the COVID-19 health test results.
“The travel pass will consist of four features, which include a list of global health requirements or conditions, a list of global registration and verification/testing centers, a laboratory application for passenger health certificates and a contactless travel application that allows passengers to access create digital passports and manage travel documentation digitally,” he said.
He explained that Malindo Air’s commitment to participate in this trial is a step to support that air travel is more comfortable, thus ensuring that every passenger is easier, safer and smoother in managing all the documents required in flight electronically.
“Partnering with IATA would be one of the pioneers in the region in piloting one of the long-awaited modern breakthroughs at the same time. The advantage of this IATA Travel Pass is to digitally process passenger data related to Covid-19 on every flight. Therefore, Malindo Air will continue to inform all prospective passengers in line with Malindo Air’s seriousness in improving customer experience,” he noted.
For information, in Kuala Lumpur, Malindo Air has partnered with selected Health Care laboratories authorized to send test results safely to prospective passengers via the application.
“This digital transformation shows the credibility of the IATA Travel Pass and is a positive step forward as international flights restart. For this reason, for this device to operate and be used effectively, we also need support from the government and various parties in accepting Travel Passes,” Mushafiz Bin Mustafa Bakri concluded.
