DISNEYLAND PARIS REOPENS AMID THE PANDEMIC, BUT NO HUGS FROM MICKEY MOUSE

THE Disneyland Paris theme park reopened recently after being closed for nearly eight months during the pandemic, but health protocols are still in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy were still present to take selfies with visitors, but they kept their distance.

Under the new rules of the playground, close interactions such as hugs are temporarily prohibited. Visitors over the age of six are also required to wear a mask.

However, visitors who come feel happy to be back in the playground. meline N’Zalakanda, a 22-year-old student, visited several times a week before the COVID-19 lockdown and has been missing the experience immensely.

“I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life. It’s been months. It feels amazing. There’s a lot of emotion seeing all these people again. Inside the park, located about 40 km east of Paris, people are riding on various attractions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Natacha Rafalski, CEO of Disneyland Paris, said the reopening of the theme park was a turning point for the tourism and hospitality sector in France which was starting to emerge from the pandemic.

“We all can’t wait for this moment. Restaurants, hotels, playgrounds, hotels, all are important for French people’s life,” she concluded. [antaranews]
