THE Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation has completed the certification process for the application for the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of PT. Super Air Jet (SAJ) with Airbus A320 aircraft type.
According to the Director General of Civil Aviation Novie Riyanto in Jakarta, Saturday (6/26), said that SAJ already holds a Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Business Permit (SIUAU-NB) with SIUAU/NB-036 Number, which was issued on September 17, 2020.
He ensured that the certification process for the issuance of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) had been carried out based on an application letter from the SAJ since September 30, 2020.
The certification process refers to ICAO provisions and applicable aviation regulations in Indonesia which is carried out through five stages or phases, namely: Pre-Application, Formal Application, Document Compliance, Demonstration & Inspection, and Certification.
“All these stages have been certified for nine months. Super Air Jet (SAJ) has also fulfilled all the requirements for AOC holders. With the completion of all stages of certification for SAJ, SAJ is declared to have met all technical and safety requirements as AOC holders,” he said.
He explained that Super Air Jet was the first Air Operator Certificate holder to be certified after the issuance of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.
“One of the AOC requirements, among others, has a minimum number of aircraft operated by three aircraft. SAJ has complied with the requirements by operating three A320 aircraft, provided that one is owned and two are in control,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations Dadun Kohar also said that Super Air Jet had complied with the requirements for the issuance of the AOC. To complete the requirements, SAJ also cooperates with PT. Batam Teknik as the holder of the Approved Maintenance Organization, where one of its capabilities is to perform maintenance on the A320 aircraft.
Dadun added that the entire process of forming this new airline candidate went through a long procedure and was in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation.
“We make sure that all provisions for the operation of air transportation and the issuance of AOC run in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation. Likewise with a series of other requirements that must be met by Super Air Jet,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
