MINISTRY OFFICIALLY CLOSES BELI KREATIF DANAU TOBA PROGRAM AFTER 3 MONTHS

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has officially closed the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba (BKDT) or Lake Toba’s Creative Purchase program which has been running for 3 months. The program as part of the Gerakan Nasional Bangga Buatan Indonesia (BBI) or Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement in 2021.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said the program aimed at encouraging MSMEs in one of the Super Priority Destinations, namely Lake Toba, North Sumatra Province, so that they can rise during this pandemic. This program was attended by 200 creative players in the culinary, craft, and fashion sub-sectors from the districts/cities around Lake Toba and North Sumatra.

“I would like to thank all stakeholders involved for all the assistance and cooperation that has been established, so that the BKDT program can run smoothly and provide benefits for creative players,” he said.

Sandiaga explained, we are also grateful to the Ministry of Finance (Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Director General of Taxes as well as PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry and PT Pos Indonesia who have become one unit in contributing to the increase in the turnover of participants to reach an average of more than 100% per month.

“Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program has had a positive impact, namely a three-fold increase in the number of workers. The number of workers after the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program also increased almost 3 times the previous workers or reached 801 workers, this number does not include the addition of resellers reaching a total of 3220 resellers,” Sandiaga noted.

In addition, he continued, the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program has also facilitated participants with integrated promotions through own media and paid media, as well as free shipping facilities to all destinations both in Indonesia and abroad.

Meanwhile, the Creative Economy Marketing Director of the Tourism Ministry, Yuana Rochma Astuti, explained that with the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program, the total turnover of participants for 3 months reached IDR22,720,967,647 with an average monthly turnover of IDR7,573,655,882, an increase of 102% from the turnover before the mentoring of the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program was IDR 3,755,904,060 per month. The free postage program in collaboration with PT Pos Indonesia itself contributed to the achievement of a turnover of IDR 523,642,350.

“Through the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program, creative players in the North Sumatra region have succeeded in expanding their market, both in local and international marketplaces, such as e-Bay and Poptron,” Yuana underlined.

Likewise, the Deputy for Marketing at the Tourism Ministry, Nia Niscaya, said that the Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program was not only successful in increasing turnover, but also succeeded in providing new knowledge to creative actors, such as financial bookkeeping, marketing, branding & trust, to packaging and product photography.

“As a program that aims to help creative actors, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, this program is considered quite successful and successful in providing new knowledge for creative actors, so I hope this program can provide benefits for creative actors in the future,” Nia added.

Furthermore, Nia said that in the near future, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will follow up on the market expansion of the Lake Toba Creative Buying program by selling North Sumatran artisanal products digitally at the Sopo Del Tower Building.

“I hope that Beli Kreatif Danau Toba participants, especially those who have made sales via the marketplace, can participate and register for this program. The Beli Kreatif Danau Toba program series ends with the facilitation of Intellectual Property certification classes for 56 (fifty-six) Beli Kreatif Danau Toba participants,” she finished.
