AS India is struggling with the second wave of Coronavirus, many countries are restricting the entry of Indian travelers into their country. However, with cases gradually declining now, some foreign countries are starting to open up to Indian travelers.
However, those arriving from India must provide a negative RT-PCR report, or be required to undergo quarantine there. Here is a list of 10 countries that are open to Indian travelers right now:
Russia
Russia recently resumed flight operations in a bid to revive its tourism industry. However, travelers will be required to bring a negative RT-PCR test result, which must be issued no less than 72 hours prior to their arrival. Note, antibody tests will not be accepted.
Turkey
It is mandatory to bring a negative PCR test result to travel to Turkey. The test must have been done no more than 72 hours before boarding their flight. In addition, travelers must undergo a 14-day quarantine at a location designated by the Turkish authorities. A person may also be subjected to random PCR testing upon their arrival.
Iceland
All travelers ‘regardless of their origin’ can now visit Iceland. Proof of infection and previous recovery or vaccination certificate (Covishield in the case of India) will even exempt a person from giving a negative PCR test result.
However, all travelers will be required to undergo a COVID screening upon arrival, with no exceptions. Travelers will be required to undergo quarantine until someone takes another test five days later. If the test result is negative, your quarantine period will also end.
Serbia
Serbia’s doors are also open to Indian travelers. However, unlike most countries, where travelers are required to present a negative RT-PCR report, being less than 72 hours older before boarding their flight, Serbia requires one to provide a report no later than 48 hours to enter.
Egypt
Indians can now travel to Egypt, although the number of flights to the country has been reduced. However, you must make an RT-PCR test report no later than 72 hours prior to arrival. Tourists are expected to undergo quarantine at their place of residence until they get a negative test result.
Uzbekistan
If they wish to take a vacation to Uzbekistan this year, apart from providing a negative RT-PCR test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival, they will also be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
Afghanistan
Indians need to report a negative RT-PCR test which must not be more than 72 hours prior to arrival, to travel to this landlocked country. However, travelers are advised to avoid traveling to Kabul for the next few weeks, due to rising COVID cases in the capital.
South Africa
All you need to visit this destination is an RT-PCR test report, which should not be more than 72 hours prior to arrival. As per the report, if those arriving in South Africa fail to present their negative PCR test as a certificate of evidence, they will have to self-quarantine at their own expense.
Costa Rica
Indians can now travel to Costa Rica, and do not need a vaccination certificate or RT-PCR test report. However, please note that travelers must complete a health clearance form upon arrival in the rainforest-filled Central American country.
Mauritius
If you want to travel to Mauritius, you may have to wait a little longer. As per reports, you can pack your bags after 15 July 2021, as the island nation prepares to open up to international tourists from 15 July. Travelers must take a COVID test, followed by a 14-day quarantine period to enjoy a holiday in Mauritius. [bisnis.com/photo special]
