THEMATIC COFFEE TOURISM EXPECTED WILL BECOME A NATIONAL TRADEMARK

IT IS hoped that coffee thematic tourism can become a national tourism trademark. Thematic tourism is a new trend that continues to grow significantly in many countries. So that the development of this thematic tourism product can be an effective strategy for tourism in the region.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said this thematic tourism is one way of packaging tourism products that are closely related to cultural and natural elements. In this time of pandemic, it is becoming increasingly relevant where tourists are looking for travel activities that are authentic, carried out in the open, less mass, and more meaningful.

Furthermore, Minister Sandiaga Uno said that Indonesia itself has also developed a lot of thematic tourism. Like coffee thematic tours in Catur Tourism Village, Bali. This coffee thematic tour is expected to be able to provide an essential experience for tourists in enjoying coffee tourism.

“So tourists do not only enjoy fresh coffee from their place of origin, but also enjoy the mountainous atmosphere, coffee plantations, harvesting activities, bean roasting, studying history and culture, and so on. So that thematic tourism like this is expected to become a national tourism trademark,” he said.

Sandiaga Uno said that Indonesia has rich coffee tourism resources, but until now, Indonesia does not yet have a comprehensive coffee tourism route nationally. Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy tries to initiate the creation of the Indonesia Coffee Trail as one of the national tourism trademarks.

“This route is a long-term program whose design we hope can be realized in a maximum of 10 years. In 2020, we have started the first step by compiling this tourist route, one of which is Bali and in particular taking several points of interest to coffee plantations in Kintamani,” said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga hopes that the Indonesia Coffee Trail will cover areas from Sabang to Merauke and from Miangas to Rote Island. We also hope that it can compete with existing Wine Trail schemes, such as those in France and New Zealand. [traveltext.id]
