THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates the implementation of IDEATHON #RinduLabuanBajo which will capture the best ideas and solutions that can encourage the growth of the tourism, culinary, craft and fashion industry ecosystem in Labuan Bajo Flores.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, when opening the IDEATHON #RinduLabuanBajo webinar online, Wednesday (6/30), said so as to realize productive and sustainable tourism and creative economy in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings as one of the super priority destinations.
“I hope that this activity can encourage the transformation of ideas towards tourism and a productive creative economy in the midst of the pandemic and the challenges of the current economic slowdown. We must remain innovative, creative, and try to improve our skills in creating creative ideas and strategies and the right steps. This activity is very appropriate to be able to increase the capacity and quality of tourism and creative economy players,” he said.
He explained that Labuan Bajo as one of the Super Priority Destinations has high tourism potential and creative economy. Not only because of Komodo Island and its natural beauty, but also culture. Even Labuan Bajo has also been designated as the location for the side events of the G20 event which will take place next year.
“We will continue to develop infrastructure development. But if we only build infrastructure but not with human resources, we will not be able to deliver the goals of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals),” Sandiaga underlined.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy is optimistic that this activity will not only capture the best ideas and solutions, but also be followed up in the form of real action.
“Hopefully this activity can also be an example for other Tourism Authority Bodies as well as encouragement for tourism and creative economy actors to rise and be enthusiastic in the midst of a pandemic. Hopefully participants can feel this vibration and resonance. Let’s contribute our brilliant ideas to advance tourism and the creative economy of Labuan Bajo and NTT as a whole,” he added.
IDEATHON #RinduLabuanBajo is an idea competition program carried out by BPOLBF aimed at gathering the best ideas to create innovations that are able to solve the challenges of tourism and the creative economy in Labuan Bajo Flores
Through this activity, it is expected to create innovative ideas and solutions that can encourage the sustainable growth of the tourism, culinary, craft, and fashion industry ecosystem in Labuan Bajo Flores. Also promoting and increasing public awareness of the development of tourism and the creative economy of Labuan Bajo Flores and synchronizing the development potential of the tourism and creative sector with the natural and cultural assets of Labuan Bajo Flores.
