ASTON MARTIN PREPARES TO UNVEIL A NEW SUPERCAR AT PEBBLE BEACH

ASTON Martin is preparing its vehicles to take to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as well as the debut for Valhalla in North America and the introduction of a new model that will take the company’s “performance credentials one step further.”

However, Aston Martin is still reluctant to reveal details and specifications of the vehicle, and they only unveiled a grid in the image which reveals the mystery model is the Valkyrie Roadster.

Quoted from CarsCoops, Tuesday (8/3), the car will be launched on August 12 and looks almost similar to a coupe vehicle. If we look at existing vehicles, the standard Valkyrie comes with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 1,000 hp (746 kW/1014 PS) and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque.

Those are some truly monumental numbers, but that’s only half the story as this model also features a hybrid system that contributes an additional 160 hp (119 kW/162 PS) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque.

Thanks to this setup, the Valkyrie is a bona fide hypercar as it features a combined output of 1,160 hp (865 kW/1,176 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. This allows the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than 2.5 seconds.

While full details will be released later this month, the Valkyrie Roadster will be joined by various other models including the AMR21, V12 Speedster and 1964 DB5. Other highlights include the DB5 Goldfinger Continuation as well as the “core sports car, GT and SUV”.

Aston Martin also used the event to mark their 70th anniversary in the United States. The first model to arrive in America was the DB2 and was a huge success for the brand as roughly a third of all DB2s were sold in the United States. [antaranews/photo special]
