WITH the increasing number of people who have been vaccinated, many countries are starting to open their doors to tourists. With the vaccine card, it is one of the conditions attached to travel in the current pandemic era.
America is one country that allows its residents to travel some countries have also begun to open to the arrival of American tourists. The following is a list of 28 countries that open access to tourists whhave been vaccinated, as reported by Travel and Leisure:
1. Danish
Denmark is reopening to vaccinated travelers from certain countries (including the US) from June 2021. These vaccinated travelers do not need to take a PCR test for COVID-19 prior to their arrival, nor do they need to be quarantined in Denmark.
Denmark will only receive EMA-approved vaccines, namely Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Children who are not vaccinated but are traveling with parents, and women who are not vaccinated because they are pregnant or breastfeeding, can still visit Denmark but must take a COVID-19 test before entering.
2. France
France will reopen to vaccinated travelers from certain countries, including the US, in June 2021. The French government imposes testing requirements based on your country of legal residence. Residents of “green” countries can come two weeks after they have completed their vaccination course without taking a PCR test, while those from “orange” countries must take the PCR test no more than 72 hours before arriving in France.
All travelers entering France (including French nationals) will be required to complete a Passenger Locator Form, which can be done on board prior to customs clearance.
3. Thailand
Thailand’s island of Phuket reopened to vaccinated tourists in July. It is the first destination in Thailand to welcome foreign tourists without mandatory quarantine. After Phuket reopens in July, the entire country hopes to waive quarantine requirements for travelers vaccinated this fall.
4. Qatar
Qatar is now allowing fully vaccinated US tourists to visit without having to be quarantined on arrival. Americans can visit for up to 30 days without a visa. Visitors must take a PCR test for COVID-19 within 72 hours of traveling to Qatar and must register on Qatar’s ‘Ehteraz’ website at least 12 hours before their arrival
5. Bahamas
The Bahamas welcomes fully vaccinated travelers who receive Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or AstraZeneca vaccines. Those who get the jab are exempt from the pre-arrival testing requirements as well as the testing protocol on the island. All travelers to the Bahamas are required to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa and take part in COVID-19 health insurance.
The Bahamas also welcomes unvaccinated travelers, but requires them to present evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than five days prior to arrival, complete a daily health questionnaire, and perform a rapid COVID-19 antigen test on the fifth day of their trip. Children aged 10 and under are also exempt from testing.
6. Bermuda
Vaccinated travelers heading to Bermuda must apply for a Bermuda COVID-19 Travel Authorization which includes a negative PCR test for COVID-19 one to three days prior to departure, which must be submitted 24 hours prior to travel. Upon arrival they will be tested for COVID-19 and will be asked to quarantine until they receive the results. After a negative test result, vaccinated travelers do not need to be quarantined but must take the test on the fourth, eighth and 14th day of their trip.
7. Canada
Canada begins welcoming vaccinated tourists on August 9. Vaccinated travelers must test negative for COVID-19 prior to travel, bring a paper copy of their vaccination record, and upload their documents to the ArriveCAN app or website. They have to wait two weeks after completing their vaccine course to enter the country.
While Canada is now allowing travelers to enter, the US is closing its land borders until at least August 21. However, Americans returning from Canada were allowed to return to the country.
8. Croatia
Croatia welcomes vaccinated tourists from countries, including the US, exempting them from pre-arrival testing or self-isolation requirements, according to the Croatian Interior Ministry. Vaccinated travelers must arrive at least 14 days after receiving their last shot of the double-dose or single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Alternatively, Croatia also welcomes American travelers who have not been vaccinated but require them to show evidence of a negative PCR or COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours of arrival or show evidence that they have contracted COVID-19 and recovered in recent times. six months. Children under 7 years old with a parent or guardian are exempt.
9. Germany
Germany began welcoming American tourists who were vaccinated in the summer of ’21. Travelers must be able to prove that they have completed a course of vaccinations accepted by the European Medicines Agency. Alternatively, they can show that they have recovered from COVID-19 between 28 days and six months ago, or that they have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of travel.
10. Georgia
Georgia welcomes US travelers arriving by air who have received both doses of the vaccine, according to the US Embassy in Georgia. Those who are fully vaccinated do not need to be tested prior to arrival or be quarantined when they get there. Unvaccinated travelers can also visit the country, but must arrive with a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours, get a follow-up PCR test on the third day after arriving in the country, and complete an application with their contact details and travel history.
11. Greece
Greece welcomes fully vaccinated tourists and other foreign visitors with coronavirus antibodies or negative test results. Travelers must bring their vaccination card, or negative PCR test, as well as a QR code provided by the Greek government after visitors fill out the Passenger Locator Form prior to arrival. Vaccinated travelers must have completed their vaccination course at least two weeks prior to their arrival in Greece, or tested negative via PCR test no later than 72 hours prior to arrival.
12. Iceland
Iceland welcomes fully vaccinated tourists from the US without requiring them to be quarantined or undergo mandatory testing, according to the Icelandic government. Alternatively, the country will also welcome travelers who can show evidence that they were infected with COVID-19 and recovered.
13. Ireland
Fully vaccinated American travelers can visit Ireland without being quarantined upon arrival. Americans must show proof of their vaccination status when entering the country. The country will also welcome unvaccinated tourists, but they must arrive with a negative COVID-19 test and self-quarantine for five days. Travelers entering Ireland must complete a Passenger Locator Form within 48 hours of travel.
14. Israel
Israel opens its borders to fully vaccinated travelers – although only those who are part of certain tour groups. All visitors to Israel will be required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test before boarding the plane as well as an antibody test to prove their vaccination upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport.
15. Italy
Italy now welcomes vaccinated travelers arriving from the US and no longer requires them to be quarantined upon entry. Vaccinated travelers must come to Italy with proof of their vaccination status, as well as a negative PCR test for COVID-19.
16. Morocco
American travelers (and tourists from other countries that Morocco includes on their “List A”) can enter the country with proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test for COVID-19 taken 48 prior to arrival. A national curfew is in place from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. in Morocco.
17. Spain
Spain’s borders are reopening to vaccinated travelers, no matter their country of origin, this summer. However, those from the US no longer have to show proof of vaccination to enter Spain. Unvaccinated travelers can visit Spain only if their country has a fairly low risk of COVID-19 (based on levels set by the Spanish government). Unvaccinated travelers will need a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to admission.
18. Switzerland
Switzerland is welcoming vaccinated American tourists starting in the summer of 2021. Already open to tourists from the Schengen area, the country is now also open to Americans and Canadians. North American travelers who have not completed their vaccination course must still show a negative PCR test for COVID-19 taken 72 hours before traveling to Switzerland. Travelers who can prove they have recently recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies can also visit Switzerland.
19. United Kingdom
Vaccinated travelers are now released from quarantine when they enter the UK. As of 19 July, many UK restrictions have been lifted – their pubs and restaurants are now fully reopened. Travelers coming to the UK for countries on their “Amber list” will still need to take a PCR test for COVID-19 before arriving, and a second test after they have been in the UK for two days.
