CHSE CERTIFICATION HAS NOT BEEN A CONSIDERATION TO OPEN TOURISM DURING PPKM

ONE of the public places that has reopened recently is the mall with a capacity that is still limited when implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) is prolonged. Furthermore, other tourism businesses will be opened gradually.

According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and Activities of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Rizki Handayani Musatafa said we recently had a meeting with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Communication and Information about tourism. The mall has opened, what about the others including MICE? The issue is that it seems that there is a lack of communication between the government.

“Not yet determined by Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certification, CHSE certification has not been seen as one of the determining factors regarding the reopening of tourism businesses. We agreed and now a group has been formed. Later CHSE will be one of the parts to be considered,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rizki Handayani continued that the CHSE certification is a health protocol certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy which is given to various types of businesses in the Indonesian tourism industry. Tourism businesses that already have a CHSE certificate have implemented standard health protocols.

“In West Java itself, according to data we received from the Head of the West Java Provincial Tourism Office, Deddy Taufik, 798 tourism businesses already have CHSE certificates. We convey that CHSE is not only involved in compiling the government, but also from MICE, golf courses, all of these efforts were involved from the beginning,” Rizki underlined.

She emphasized that the opening of tourist attractions is not the authority of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. However, our side still provides input, struggles, and equates thoughts with the tourism industry players. If the industry really dies, tourism is destroyed, then the Ministry of Tourism is no longer needed. We fight with friends. [sources/photo special]
