INDONESIA’S Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno expressed his support for the government’s plan to use a vaccine card that is connected to the Peduli Lindungi or Peduli Protect application in various tourist destinations or creative economy centers.
“This (vaccine card) can be a solution so that tourism and creative economy actors (tourism and creative economy) can survive in the midst of a pandemic and people can vacation safely. So that this vaccine card can later become our gold standard in activities,” he said during the Weekly Press Briefing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Jakarta, Monday (8/23).
He explained, after the COVID-19 vaccination reaches 70-75%, what needs to be prepared is the application of strict and disciplined health protocols in each destination and creative economy center. Currently, the Ministry of tourism is expanding the ‘Indonesia Care’ certification based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment Sustainability (CHSE).
“Until August 13, 2021, it was stated that there were 5,497 businesses registered, consisting of 829 businesses that had not been verified and 4,668 businesses that had been verified. The ‘Indonesia Care’ certification can be issued if the assessment on the CHSE checklist scores 85-100,” he said.
Sandiaga added, if the pandemic situation in certain areas has decreased, then tourism destinations and creative economy centers can be opened gradually. Later we will do monitoring and evaluation.
However, when asked about the target and realization of vaccinations for tourism business players this year, Minister Sandiaga then directly replied that it was indeed a homework that had to be completed, namely the COVID-19 vaccination for 34 million tourism industry players and the creative economy.
“We see that of the 34 million tourism and creative economy actors who are the targets (of vaccinations), we can reach the number of 400-500 thousand vaccinated until the end of September. There is still a long way to go along with the rush of vaccines in tourist destinations and creative economy centers,” he noted.
We hope, he continued, that this target can be achieved and if possible, the number of tourism and creative economy actors who receive vaccinations in the near future can exceed this target number. Efforts to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination will continue to be carried out in several regions in Indonesia.
In addition, Sandiaga said that the government guarantees the availability of vaccines for all Indonesian people. However, the provision of vaccines is indeed carried out in stages so that vaccinations are also carried out in stages, starting with priority groups.
As of August 22, 2021, it was recorded that 57,340,729 doses of the first dose of vaccine or 27.53% had been injected into the community. Meanwhile, the second dose of vaccination has reached 31,602,633 or 15.17%. [traveltext.id]
