INDONESIA’S Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan attended the Rainbow Sulawesi National Movement for Proud of Made Indonesia virtually while asking the local government to equip tourist attractions in Sulawesi with the PeduliLindungi application.
“I ask that all tourist destinations, Mr. Governor, must prepare the PeduliLindungi application, so that we don’t travel with people affected by the delta variant, which can eventually infect everyone,” said Luhut while attending the virtual launch of Rainbow Sulawesi National Movement for Proud of Made Indonesia, Thursday (8/26).
In addition, Luhut also requested that there be class A hospitals in every five super priority tourist destinations, so that tourists can travel comfortably.
On that occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs did not forget to remind that the current handling of COVID-19 is integrated, where all data will be entered into the PeduliLindungi application.
“So, even entering this tour, you have to enter with PeduliLindungi. Why, the goal is that we want to detect whether this person has been vaccinated or not. Second, whether this person has a positive test result or not. So, this can simultaneously trace people who have COVID-19 and so on,” Minister Luhut stated.
Luhut also emphasized that the use of masks and washing hands must become a culture, because they are one of the keys to handling the spread of COVID-19.
“Frankly, from the various literatures that we have seen and various opinions from experts both at home and abroad, we do not know when COVID-19 will end,” Luhut noted.
The government also targets 200 million Indonesians to be vaccinated by the end of 2020, although this is not easy and requires the cooperation of all parties.
“Well, I think this is what I ask my friends in Manado, Governor, I beg of you, let’s take care of it together. Later we will also take care of the Proud of Made Indonesia Movement. Because the Proud of Made Indonesia Movement will not be anything if this cannot be taken care of. So, it is very related,” concluded Luhut. [antaranews]
