MINISTRY & ACCOR GROUP ABSORB MSME PRODUCTS IN CENTRAL JAVA & YOGYAKARTA

THE MINISTRY of Cooperatives and SMEs and Accor Group collaborate to absorb Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) products starting to be realized. This time it was MSME products in Central Java and Yogyakarta.

The commitment of the two parties was manifested in the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta-MGallery and UMKM Rumah Cheese Jogja and nDalem Chocolate. The two MSMEs are the result of joint curation between Smesco Indonesia and the Accor group. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement was witnessed by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki in Yogyakarta.

According to the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, said the implementation between Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and the Accor group has made a lot of progress and has produced some concrete things. Currently, there are several MSME products that have been curated and then collaborated with several hotels of the Accor group network.

“I see that it is displayed well. This is a good example of MSME products and hotels working together to support each other because these two business sectors are equally affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

MSMEs are challenged to find common solutions needed by hotels. Minister Teten acknowledged that this was a blessing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts to improve the supply chain continue to be made, ranging from culinary products, fashion, to groceries.

Teten Masduki hopes that the Accor network cooperation with MSMEs does not stop at the Phoenix Hotel, but can be duplicated to other Accor group networks. Not only in Indonesia but also in international networks.

“This collaboration is a process of encouraging MSME products to advance to class. At the same time, it is to brand MSME products and prove that the quality of MSME products is able to compete with big brands,” Teten stated.

At the same time, Deputy for Small and Medium Enterprises at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Hanung Harimba Rachman, added that Smesco had co-curated a number of MSME products needed by hotels and restaurants, such as decorations, toiletries, amenitis, household needs, minibars, and restaurant needs.

“I hope that through this collaboration, the Accor group will also absorb more MSME products assisted by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs which have been curated by Smesco,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Accor Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea Garth Simmons said, we are honored to be able to contribute to government programs through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs for the development of Indonesian MSMEs and the success of the Proudly Made Indonesia movement. The Accor Group is excited to continue its support through this collaboration.

Simmons added that various partnerships with local MSMEs and Accor hotels spread throughout Indonesia were carried out, including displaying their products in hotel areas, consignment, product use in hotel operations, as well as product absorption in line with brand promotion and marketing programs.

“We will continue to develop this partnership, including cooperation with the Kemenkopukm and Smesco Indonesia,” concluded Simmons. [traveltext.id]
