TO DECLINE IN COVID-19 CASES, PPKM JAVA-BALI EXTENDED UNTIL OCT 4

THE INDONESIA’S Government has again extended the implementation of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali until October 4, 2021. However, the implementation of PPKM is being relaxed again.

The easing of the PPKM is in line with the decline in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, especially Java and Bali. Based on this achievement, the government conducted a trial of opening shopping centers and malls for children.

“There will be trials of opening shopping centers and malls for children under the age of 12 with parental supervision and assistance,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan during a press conference, Monday (20/9).

Luhut explained that the trial would be implemented in the areas of Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, DI Yogyakarta and Surabaya. In addition, the government will also open cinemas in areas that run PPKM levels 3 and 2. Cinemas can operate with a maximum capacity of 50% for the green and yellow categories. This is based on screening through the PeduliLindungi platform.

The government also provides relaxation to the office sector. Luhut said non-essential offices in areas with PPKM level 3 can carry out work activities in offices with a capacity of 25%.

“For employees who have been vaccinated and must have used QR Care PeduliLindungi,” said Luhut, who is also the coordinator of PPKM implementation in Java and Bali.

Easing was also carried out in the sports sector. The government grants permit for League 2 matches in districts and cities with levels 3 and 2. The restaurant sector also gets concessions by granting permits to open restaurants in sports areas that are outdoors. This is with a capacity limitation of 50%. [sources/photo special]
