AIRASIA & TOURISM MINISTRY SIGNS AN MOU TO ANTICIPATE TOURISM RECOVERY

AIRASIA Indonesia airline and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy signed a memorandum of understanding to establish synergy and collaboration in anticipating the recovery of national tourism, Tuesday (9/21).

The signing of the memorandum of understanding was carried out by AirAsia Indonesia Operations Director Capt. Wuri Septiawan and Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya.

According to the President Director of AirAsia Indonesia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga, “AirAsia is honored to be able to continue the collaboration that has been established with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia in the last few years.

Through the memorandum of understanding, AirAsia confirmed its commitment to support the government’s efforts in restoring the national economy, by carrying out its role not only as a transporter of tourists but also as a marketing agent for Indonesian tourism destinations to the international public when access is reopened.

“AirAsia will support the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to return the attention and interest of the world community to tourist destinations in Indonesia, especially to our consumer base in Indonesia and the ASEAN region, and countries in the Asia Pacific. We hope that in the future the public’s interest in traveling to Indonesia can continue to grow so that it can support the national economic recovery, especially for tourism, hotel and creative industry players in destinations when access to direct visits will be reopened later,” said Vera.

She believes the national tourism industry will recover faster than expected in line with the acceleration of vaccination that continues to increase and the pandemic situation in Indonesia improves.

Meanwhile, Nia Niscaya said that this co-branding partnership was realized not only by displaying the Wonderful Indonesia logo on the packaging of co-branding partners’ products, but also through various other programs such as joint online and offline activation,” Nia said.

The memorandum of understanding covers a number of collaboration points, including increasing brand equity, implementing promotional activities, and exchanging data and information to support the preparation and implementation of tourism marketing development strategies and the creative economy.

Nia further said that cooperation is also realized by the existence of special products produced by partners, collaborative activities with one or more partners who can support each other, as well as sharing knowledge possessed by partners to the tourism industry so that they can grow and be stronger in competing in the tourism industry in international scene.
