BRITISH sports car maker Lotus is finally getting more attention from automotive enthusiasts in the United States thanks to its Emira V6 First Edition vehicle, which will go into production in the third quarter of next year.
This sportcar will be priced around 94,000 US dollars (equivalent to IDR1.3 billion). Specs models set up for the US market will, among other things, feature a mid-mount 3.5-liter V6 engine sourced from Toyota and already equipped with an Edelbrock supercharger.
Quoted from CarsCoops, Saturday, by bringing a 3.5-liter V6 engine this vehicle will be able to produce power up to 400 hp with a maximum torque of 430 Nm.
In terms of performance, this engine will be connected to a standard six-speed manual – with a reduced torque output of 420 Nm. However, customers can opt for a six-speed automatic transmission for an additional US$2,150.
The final gearbox allows the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, while the manual is a tenth of a second slower. However, both versions have a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
The Emira features a lightweight aluminum chassis, hydraulic power assisted steering system and 20-inch ultra-light forged alloy wheels available in diamond, silver or glossy black cut.
In terms of brakes, this car comes with two-part disc brakes featuring Lotus branded calipers. This model is also equipped with the Drivers Pack, which gives customers a choice of Tour or Sport suspension with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires or Sport suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Inside, the car comes in red, black, gray or brown Nappa leather and black Alcantara upholstery. This piece also features red, yellow or gray contrast stitching.
Elsewhere, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and factory navigation.
Other highlights include 12-way power heated front seats with memory, satin chrome trim and Lotus-branded sill plates. This model also features ambient lighting, cruise control, and a driving mode selector. [antaranews/photo special]
