THE GOVERNMENT made a number of adjustments, especially in the Java-Bali region, in line with the condition of the spread of COVID-19 cases which continued to slop, starting from the opening of fitness centers to 25% and the opening of international arrivals in Bali.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as well as the Java-Bali PPKM Coordinator Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in a press conference on the development of implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) which was monitored online from Jakarta, Monday (10/4), said the adjustment would be implemented in the Jabodetabek agglomeration areas, Bandung Raya, Solo Raya, Greater Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Greater Surabaya.
“In implementing the PPKM Level, which will be implemented over the next two weeks, the government will make various adjustments, including the opening of a fitness center with a maximum capacity of 25% with the implementation of strict procedures and PeduliLindung screening,” said Minister Luhut Pandjaitan.
Luhut also revealed that another adjustment that will be implemented is the opening of food and beverage outlets in cinemas. However, the capacity of the cinema remains at 50%. The policy will apply to cities with PPKM Level 3, 2, and 1.
“Later we will see in the next week, if there are further improvements, we will develop it again in the future. So, all I want to remind you, we do this gradually, gradually, continuously. We don’t want suddenly something uncontrollable to happen,” said Luhut.
Luhut said the various achievements of controlling the pandemic that had been carried out by the government should be grateful for. However, he conveyed Vice President Ma’ruf Amin’s message reminding all parties to remain vigilant and careful because the risk of an increase in cases is still high and can occur at any time.
“Today’s government is not proud at all and continues to plead with the public so that once again there is no excessive euphoria which in the end ignores all forms of existing prokes. What we have achieved today is of course all cooperation, and this is our result, don’t spoil it,” he noted.
He also reminded the public not to be careless. The reason is, the slightest negligence will result in an increase in cases and will certainly repeat the tightening policies imposed. This is very detrimental to all of us. [antaranews]
