STATE-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir hopes that the construction of a Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sanur, Bali, will revive Bali’s tourism.
“Starting the start of the week full of wara nugraha by meeting the Governor of Bali, Pak Wayan Koster, we discussed the development of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Health in Sanur. The potential is large and abundant, so it can be a priority to play a role in reviving tourism in Bali,” said Erick Thohir as quoted from the Instagram account @erickthohir in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/6).
On that occasion, Erick and the Governor of Bali discussed the readiness of state-owned companies before the reopening of international flights to Bali.
“Readiness and vigilance at Ngurah Rai International Airport as the main access for tourists must be properly maintained and improved to ensure services with guaranteed prokes standards,” he said.
Additional flight access to Bali through Garuda or Citilink airlines as well as other airlines, as well as preparing health facilities involving state-owned hospital holding companies and state-owned pharmaceutical companies, must also be prepared.
The Minister Erick Thohir hopes that this discussion can be a good start for the rise of tourism and the economy in Bali.
Previously, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises supported the recovery of the tourism sector in Bali Province related to the plan to open I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for international flights on October 14.
Minister Erick Thohir said that the support was given because he considered that it was time for the Balinese economy to recover after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also reminded the Balinese people to be disciplined in implementing health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. [antanews/photo special]
