THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy asked the tourism sector industry not to trigger the third wave of COVID-19 in Indonesia.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, on Weekly Press Briefing, Monday (10/18) afternoon said yesterday, the Delta variant, and the previous one not from tourism, so tourism has never been a trigger for a pandemic, but don’t let tourism become a trigger this time.
“The emergence of the third wave of COVID-19 is a necessity. However, the readiness of health protocols in tourist destinations is the key to anticipating the third wave. So, friends in tourism, don’t be euphoric, apply strict health protocols,” he said.
He explained that the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia had so far been declining. So I asked the tourism sector to keep it that way. The reason is that in 2022, he said, Indonesia will hold a number of activities. One of them is the G20 activity which invites a number of leaders or country representatives.
“Therefore, I ask the tourism sector to implement the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability) system to ensure the health and safety of tourists. Don’t let our guard down, because we are in a very sloping situation, suddenly we are not ready to anticipate the third wave,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
