THAILAND DESTINATIONS (PDES) WILL INITIATE COMPANY’S PERFORMANCE

PT DESTINASI Tirta Nusantara Tbk (PDES) is a regional tour operator (Destination Management Company) in Southeast Asia that specializes in handling the foreign tourist market with operational offices in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

According to Ricky Setiawanto, Director of PT Destinasi Tirta Nusantara Tbk (PDES), on Monday (10/25) said PDES is a subsidiary of PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR) by selling various holiday packages such as beach holidays, cruising, culinary experiences, sports & adventure, exploration journey, luxury travel, MICE, wellness tourism and special interest tourism.

“With the support of technology and current business infrastructure, PDES sells its services online and offline,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nicola Scaramuzzino, Country Manager of PDES Thailand said that in response to the gradual opening of the borders of several countries in Southeast Asia for international tourists, the company believes that the PDES Thailand office is the first to start its business activities with New Normal standards.

“This is thanks to the Thai government’s latest decision to remove quarantine for 46 countries which are the main source market for Siam on November 1, 2021. We see a very strong pent-up demand for international tourists who want to go to Thailand, one of which is confirmation with our major travel agents in Europe to conduct charter flights in mid-December. We believe operational performance can be as high as 60% during the pre-pandemic in 2022,” Scaramuzzino said.

Scaramuzzino added that apart from Thailand, the Malaysia and Singapore PDES offices are predicted to resume operations in the 1st quarter of 2022 and the Vietnam office in the 2nd quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, for Indonesia, currently around 100 travel agent partners spread across the company’s main source markets have returned to selling tour packages with Indonesian destinations, especially Bali. The company believes that the return of foreign tourists to Indonesia will begin in November this year.

“The hope for a faster recovery in Indonesian tourism is the easing or elimination of quarantine, considering that the pent-up demand for foreign tourists who want to go to Indonesia is very large,” concluded Ricky Setiawanto. [traveltext.id/photo special]
