SHINTA VR, a startup engaged in Virtual Reality, closed its pre-series A funding on October 30, 2021, led by TigaLapan Investama Group and Investa Syailendra Nuswantara (INSAN) as business and investment aggregators.
This funding complements previous funding by Telkomsel Innovation Center (TINC), Rentracks Co Creation, Ltd (Japan), and several angel investors. With this pre-series A investment, SHINTA VR is focused on becoming the most impactful metaverse company in Indonesia. To date, SHINTA VR has helped thousands of schools in 34 provinces in Indonesia use 3D and Virtual Reality technology in learning through its business unit, Millealab.
With the ‘community-based contents’ strategy, Millealab has succeeded in creating a broad impact on the world of Indonesian education by producing 5,200 trained teachers and 130 Virtual Reality ambassador teachers since 2019, and has been used by hundreds of schools throughout Indonesia.
According to Andes, Founder and Managing Director of SHINTA VR in a press release, said this year, SHINTA VR has also innovated in two new business units, namely SpaceCollab which focuses on the human resource development industry through synchronized training based on multi-device (VR, computers, and smartphones) which has been used in several universities and companies.
“In the field of entertainment and media, SHINTA VR has built a Virtual Character System that provides a system for Virtual Characters and Influencers (Virtual Youtubers). Together with Rentracks Co Creation Indonesia, SHINTA VR created a famous Virtual Youtuber agency in Indonesia called Maha5 (Maha Panca) who has collaborated with many parties such as GoPlay, Samsung, and others,” Andes said.
He explained, our consistency in the field of Immersive Technology since 2016 is a journey that will shape the future of the immersive industry in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, as an Investor, the President Director of TigaLapan Investama, Titi Khoiriah believes that the Virtual Reality technology brought by SHINTA VR can have a broad social impact for Indonesia, especially in the world of Education and Human Resource Development.
“With years of experience in construction investment, we want to expand into the Indonesian digital industry, SHINTA VR is our first portfolio this year, we see the metaverse industry is the future of the communication and digital world, SHINTA VR has succeeded in proving its consistency not only in increasing revenue since the last two years, but also has a high social impact on the world of education,” Titi Khoiriah remarked.
In addition, as a business and investment aggregator for start-ups, INSAN which was founded by Fahmi Bagus Mahessa and George Erlangga Siregar also sees the same thing. Fahmi stated that, “SHINTA VR has proven its existence in the immersive industry and has consistently grown very well. We believe they can get really big.
INSAN is currently compiling the next investment portfolio for many potential startups in Indonesia. Shinta VR is a successful example of INSAN’s cold hands who have succeeded in proving that advanced technology-based startups can be trusted by all groups and become the pride of Indonesia.
Likewise, George Erlangga said, INSAN targets to aggregate several potential start-ups this year so that they become bigger and more meaningful for Indonesia’s progress. [traveltext.id]
