MANGKULUHUR City in collaboration with DITS Asia will launch ‘Lounge in The Sky Indonesia’ in January 2022 by offering a culinary dining concept in the 50-meter height of Jakarta’s sky.
“I am very happy and excited to announce that Lounge in The Sky is coming to Jakarta. Mangkuluhur Citu and DITS Asia will collaborate together to bring this culinary experience to life with the aim of reviving the local and international tourism sector,” said Hampuss Land’s President Director, Darma Mangkuluhur Hutomo, during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (11/4).
Located at Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge, Lounge in The Sky Indonesia (LITS) promises a panoramic view of the capital’s skyline around the Semanggi bridge. This culinary program is the first time in Indonesia and the third in the world after Belgium and Malaysia.
“We all know that the pandemic has had an impact on the tourism, travel and culinary industries. So this is one of the reasons that pushed Lounge in The Sky to come to Indonesia because we want to create new experiences in this industry,” said DITS Asia Founder and CEO, Arvin Randahwa.
He added that another reason he chose Indonesia to hold the Lounge in The Sky Indonesia was because Jakarta is a big city with diversity, especially it has good taste in culinary and lifestyle products.
Meanwhile, Operations Manager of Boca Rica Jakarta, Jan Hendrik Loen, admitted that Lounge in The Sky Indonesia is a challenge for his party to maintain the quality of dishes when serving them on the platform.
“Serving food above is not easy. We make it downstairs, then we lift it up there and prepare it our way to keep the food quality good. Either way, up there the food must always be warm and fresh,” he said.
The Lounge in The Sky program is part of the Dinner in The Sky restaurant product, which has experience in more than 60 cities around the world and has served more than 10,000 times.
LITS promotes high safety standards. During the above, guests will use seat belts and accompanying staff are equipped with safety harnesses.
Safety supervisors will brief guests on safety regulations before the platform is raised. The safety standards have been approved by TÜV SÜD, an international organization from Germany that validates safety and security levels.
LITS will be present in Jakarta for three months. To date, LITS has accommodated more than 5,000 guests who are registered on the waiting list.
LITS applies safety and security standards for customers who want to experience this unique culinary experience, including a minimum age of 17 years and over, a maximum weight of 150 kg, and a minimum height of 135 cm. Later there will be two sessions every Monday to Friday and three sessions on weekends with a duration of 60 minutes.
Online reservations will be opened to the public at 12.00 WIB on Friday (11/5) on the www.lits.asia website. To get this unique culinary dining experience, customers can choose from three available packages, namely standard class for IDR1.6 million, business class for IDR2.2 million, and first class for IDR3.7 million.
