CONFIRMED THAT THE WORLD SUPERBIKE PREPARATION HAS REACHED 100%

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy ensures that the preparation for the World Superbike (WSBK) in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has reached 100%.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in a statement at the Weekly Press Briefing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Jakarta, Monday (11/8) said the World Superbike event plays an important role for the tourism sector and the creative economy of Indonesia, especially the province of NTB. Moreover, the Mandalika area is one of the five super priority destinations in Indonesia.

“In an effort to attract tourists, especially those from the archipelago, the ticket price for the WSBK event is said to have been adjusted, from IDR770 thousand for a three-day package to IDR150 thousand for the first day, IDR200 thousand for the second day, and IDR300 thousand for the third day,” he said.

He explained that this was considered in accordance with the ability of the local community so as to provide opportunities for them to be able to watch WSBK by observing health protocols.

“The government has provided guidelines for the implementation of the event and 25,000 spectators are expected to be able to witness it live. In addition, the Ministry of Tourism is said to have tried to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Mandalika by focusing on the integrated health care application with PeduliLindungi and distributing health kits of Rp. 1 million to the surrounding community,” Sandiaga remarked.

Minister Sandiaga also hopes that the local or local economy can get an abundance of increased turnover and welfare, opening up job opportunities for the community, especially around Mandalika.

“Therefore, it is hoped that this international event will become a momentum for the promotion of Indonesia’s creative economy, especially the NTB region.
