ASCOTT COLLABORATIONS WITH KIMAYA GROUP TO EXPAND HOTEL NETWORKING

CAPITALAND Investment’s wholly-owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), continues its aggressive expansion by establishing a strategic partnership with the Kimaya Group, which is part of one of the leading local manufacturers and distributors in Indonesia.

Ascott Indonesia signed five agreements with a total of 1,134 hotel rooms under the brand affiliated with the HARRIS brand. Two of them are located in Bandung and the rest are located in Jakarta, Bali and Yogyakarta. The addition of this new property will further strengthen Ascott’s position as one of the largest international owners and operators in Indonesia for serviced residences and hotels.

According to Armand Steinmeyer, Vice President of Business Development at Ascott, said we are honored to partner with Kimaya Group as a form of expansion of the hotel portfolio in Indonesia. Indonesia is currently Ascott’s second largest market after China.

He explained that in Jakarta, the Kimaya hotel will be located in Slipi, West Jakarta, close to the business and shopping district with a total of 340 rooms. In Bandung, the Kimaya hotel will be located on Jalan Braga, a historic area of ​​Bandung city surrounded by cafes and restaurants with a total of 193 rooms. In Yogyakarta, Hotel Kimaya will be strategically located on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, surrounded by offices, shopping centers, and close to a hospital with a total of 202 rooms.

“In addition, in October 2021 Kimaya Group has just acquired two HARRIS hotels in Bandung and Bali; HARRIS Ciumbuleuit, located in Bandung with a total of 210 rooms and HARRIS Hotels & Residence Sunset Road Bali, is strategically located on Sunset Road, close to Ngurah Rai Airport and SGCC (Sunset Garden Convention Center) with a total of 189 rooms,” he noted.
