TOURISM and creative economy activities during the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 holidays refer to the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) protocol.
According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Friday (12/10) said that now we have decided that PPKM Level 3 will not be applied but tourism and creative economy activities are carried out with special health protocol rules for Christmas and New Year which refer to the COVID-19 protocol, CHSE, and several other protocols.
Sandiaga noted that the implementation of the strict health protocol was carried out to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic situation could continue to be controlled. This is also an anticipation of the entry of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 into the country.
He further said that Indonesia is one of the five major countries in the world that meet level one for controlling COVID-19 according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
“Indonesia is one of the five major countries in the world that meets WHO level one. This is thanks to our hard work. Let’s continue to improve our ability to drive the tourism sector economy in our frame of calling it CHSE,” he remarked.
Previously on a different occasion, Sandiaga added that market confidence would grow again after the COVID-19 pandemic if tourism business actors were disciplined to apply aspects of cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability as stated in the CHSE certification.
“Our tourism recovery trend shows that cleanliness (hygiene), minimal physical contact (low-touch), less crowds (less-crowd), and less mobility (low-mobility), are what (tourists) expect,” Sandiaga underlined .
He concluded that the trend of tourism recovery occurred in line with changes in tourist behavior after COVID-19. Sandiaga noted that the changes in behavior occurred significantly, including changes in values, age groups, and ways of traveling. [traveltext.id/photo special]
