COVID-19 CASES RISE, INDONESIAN TOURISTS ARE URGED NOT TO GO ABROAD

THE COORDINATING Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, has appealed to the Indonesian people not to travel abroad for a while due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.

“The trend of increasing Covid-19 cases is caused by foreign travellers and the President (Joko Widodo) specifically emphasizes that we are advised to refrain from going abroad for the next few weeks,” Miniister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said, Monday (1/10).

He added that confirmed cases of overseas travelers (PPLN) dominate the proportion of daily cases in Indonesia, causing an increase in active cases and patient care in the Java and Bali regions.

“On January 9 (2022), for example, in Jakarta, of the 393 cases that occurred, nearly 300 of them were caused by foreign travelers,” he said.

He explained that so once again we beg you to refrain from traveling abroad unless it is absolutely essential.
