PUPR MINISTRY PROPOSES IKN BUDGET FOR INFRASTRUCTURE OF IDR46 TRILLION

THE BUDGET for the construction of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago has not yet been allocated by the Ministry of Finance.

“For IKN, until now there is no budget in PUPR Ministry for IKN. Indeed, in the letter from the Minister of Finance and Bappenas at the time of the budget allocation there was a star that the 2022 allocation was excluding IKN and natural disasters,” said the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono in a Working Meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR) which was broadcast virtually, Tuesday (1/25).

The Ministry of PUPR has proposed a budget for IKN Nusantara of around IDR46 trillion to the Ministry of Finance. The funds will be used for the construction of the Office of the President and Vice President, the MPR/DPR Building and other public facilities.

“Currently we are compiling and proposing to the Minister of Finance from 2022 to 2024, for KIPP (core areas of the central government), namely for the offices of the President, Vice President, House of Representatives (DPR), People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), roads, raw water, drinking water, electricity around IDR46 trillion,” he said.

Basuki guaranteed that the allocation of IKN Nusantara funds would not burden the PUPR Ministry’s Budget Implementation List (DIPA). Although in the end it will be charged to the DIPA of the Ministry of PUPR, Basuki ensured that he will continue to maintain the mandate of the budget.

“We as users, God willing, we won’t be burdened anymore because it’s outside of DIPA. Even if it is refocused to DIPA, I will take good care of this for the people. Because it’s impossible for IDR46 trillion to be charged to our DIPA,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
